Poem

                               Glory ever be to Jesus

Written by Fanny Crosby

Glory ever be to Jesus, God’s own well belovèd Son; By His grace He hath redeemed us, “It is finished,” all is done.Saved by grace through faith in Jesus, Saved by His own precious blood, May we in His love abiding, Follow on to know the Lord.Oh the weary days of wand’ring, Longing, hoping for the light; These at last all lie behind us, Jesus is our strength and might. In His safe and holy keeping, ’Neath the shadow of His wing, Gladly in His love confiding, May our souls His praises sing. Glory ever be to Jesus, God’s own well belovèd Son; By His grace He hath redeemed us, “It is finished,” all is done.

My Favorite Bible Verses

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18

King James Version (KJV)

14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Consolation for the Afflicted Saints

During all 50 plus years of chronic pain God’s word has brought me through with its words of consolation. What does the Bible say about our consolation? In the next few days we are going to explore  to see what nuggets we can find!

Psalm 23:4; Romans 15:5; 2 Cor.1:3,4; 7:6,7; Col.1:11,12; 2 Thess.2:16-17.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

King James Version (KJV)

16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

My Favorite Bible Verses

Philippians 4:6,7–

6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13–

12And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

13To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Benefits from Affliction

Even through my affliction with chronic pain all these years ,through it all I have been drawn closer to my God and my Savior Jesus the Christ! Each day He blesses me with the strength to carry me through!  2 Cor.4:17; 8:2; Psalms 119:71,1o7; Isaiah 63:9.

2 Corinthians 4:17

New King James Version (NKJV)

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

Isaiah 26:7-9– Teaches us to seek God’s will!

Benefits from Affliction

Benefits from  Affliction:  You may ask how can affliction benefit anyone or anything? Let us look at some Scripture and see the answer to this question.

Job 11:3,4; 21:18,19.    The way we handle our affliction in the strength God grants us brings Glory to God.

Psalms 34:19-20; 2 Cor.4:8-11.

2 Corinthians 4:8-11

King James Version (KJV)

8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

10Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

11For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

By the way we handle our infirmities others will see that God is faithful and has great power.

To be continued:

Blessings

It is early evening,

the sky is still blue,

I jump on my old four wheeler,

and drive out,

to that old beaver dam,

to see a beaver our two.

I drive very slow,

trying not to scare,

the wild life, you know.

I like to see and hear,

the birds and white tailed deer.

Oh, what a blessing,

God has given me,

All of nature’s beauty,

He allows me to see.

Praise His name,

for His precious Son,

Who saved us from sin,

and on that old cross,

a great victory was won.
