More About Jesus

More About Jesus

Hi friends! Today we are looking at a couple of Scripture verses from the book of  Luke about Jesus.

Luke 2: 51And he went down with them, and came toNazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

52And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.  Jesus was obedient to His parents. Something we need today is for our children to be obedient.

Luke 22:42. Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Jesus sought His Fathers will always!

Luke 23: 39-43 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

40But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

41And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.  Jesus is forgiving and offers Salvation and a home with Him paradise to all who call upon His name.   More about Jesus would I know, more about Jesus to others show, more about Jesus, more about Jesus.

Oh, What a Friend

Oh, what a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bare and Jesus loves me this I know! What great hymns about Jesus! Today we are going to look at a couple more verses that tell us about Jesus.    John 13:1Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.  John 15:13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.   Yes, Jesus loves me for the Bible tells me so!   Luke 22:27For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.    Phil.2:8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.   Let’s thank God for the humility of Christ and the paying of our sin debt in full and forever. That old account was settled long ago!

More About Jesus

More about Jesus would I know, more about Jesus to others show, more about Jesus to my life apply and sing His praise as the days go by. Today let’s look at a few more Bible verse telling us about Jesus.

1 Timothy 1:

Amplified Bible (AMP)

16But I obtained mercy for the reason that in me, as the foremost [of sinners], Jesus Christ might show forth and display all His perfect long-suffering and patience for an example to [encourage] those who would thereafter believe on Him for [the gaining of] eternal life.

Isaiah 40:11He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.    Luke 19:41And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,  here we see in these two verses a man of compassion, and as His followers should not we be compassionate?

Matthew 4:

23And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

24And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.  Acts 10:38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Again as followers of Jesus we should do deeds with love and kindness as Jesus showed to others as recorded in these  verses!

More About Jesus

Today friends let’s look a little further in God’s word to find more about Jesus. Hebrews 2:17Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. As followers of this man from Galilee we are to be merciful as He was and what a difference that will make in the world around us. Matthew 27:14; Isaiah 53:7 tell us Jesus the Christ was patient in nature. Isaiah 53:7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Aren’t you glad that Jesus was patient and merciful and is still today giving hope and salvation to the lost as He saved me in 1958.

Psalms 103:

1Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

15As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

16For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

18To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

19The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

20Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

More About Jesus

More about Jesus would I know, more about Jesus could I show! The more about Jesus we know the more of Jesus’s love we can show. Luke 2:49; John 2:17; 8:29 tell us Jesus was a person that was Zealous or passionate about His Fathers business. Luke 2:49And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?  Isaiah 53:7; Zec.9:9; Matthew 11:29 tell us that Jesus was meek and lowly of heart [ humble ]. Matthew 11:29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Dear friend, if we are followers of Jesus we must be about His business with a humble heart!

More About Jesus

1 Peter 1:19 describes Jesus as being spotless [ pure ]. 1 Peter 1:19But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Isaiah 53:4-7 says He was innocent and took our sin debt upon Himself and bore our punishment for us and giving us freedom. Isaiah 53:4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

 7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

The lamb is a picture of innocence!

Character of Christ

As we read Matthew 19:16 we find Christ is good, the only good person to walk this earth, He was the only Son of God.

Matthew 19:16 16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good[a] Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”  Christ is faithful!   Isaiah 11:5; 1 The.5:24. 1The.5:24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.  As we search John 1;14;7:18; 1 John 5:20 we find that Christ is true!    John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.   [ to be continued ]
