Life’s Race

Life’s race is like a marathon,

Run in years,

Instead of miles,

Some days bring heartaches,

And others bring smiles.

Some days the body is spry,

While others it pains,

And one wants to cry.

Some days are filled with sunshine,

And others filled with rain.

Each day is a challenge,

And a race to be run,

From day break,

To the setting of the sun.

In our spiritual life,

Life’s race is to be run,

Either following Satan,

Or God’s only Son.

Satan races us toward destruction;

Jesus leads us to Heaven,

Eternal life for everyone.

So let us run with Jesus,

Over life’s rocky track,

Looking toward the finish line,

And never looking back.

When life’s race is over,

Heaven will be our prize,

A land without sorrow,

And cloudy skies.

Adopted

The Bible tells us that when we have faith and call upon the name of Jesus for His gift of salvation He adopts us into the Family of God.

Romans 8:15

15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  Romans 8:23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.  Eph.1:5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,  Gal. 4:5To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.  Romans 8:

14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  When we call upon the name of the Lord we are adopted into the greatest family of all, the family of God!

Favorite Bible Verses

Romans 5: 6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

11And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.            Oh, my friends what love is shown here by God, that He sent His only son to bare our sins on that old cross and became the atonement for all our sin and not only save us but give us entrance into the family of God.  What did I have to do? I only had to believe and call upon the name of Jesus!

Rays of Hope

It is late October,

The Sky is cloudy and gray,

A drizzle is falling,

Oh! what a dreary day!

The leaves are all about gone,

and a flock of crows,

are cawing on the hill beyond.

All of a sudden,

I see,

A patch of blue sky,

And the sun,

Comes shinning through,

Oh, What a little ray of sunshine can do!

In this life,

As we are passing through,

The cloudy days seem,

More than a few,

Then one day,

The Son shine of God’s love,

Comes shinning through,

Bringing us hope of Heaven,

When our weary days are through.

My Observations

Romans 5

1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.  When I read this passage of Scripture I observe the following: a/ when we call upon the name of Jesus for salvation we are justified [ made righteous before God ]. b/ We have peace with God. [ a peace that is beyond all understanding ]. c/ We have access into the  presence of God’s amazing grace! d/ We can rejoice in our hope of God’s Glory! e/ We accept our troubles  knowing they produce patience! f/ This patience produces experience. g/ experience produces hope. We have the love of God in our hearts through His Holy Spirit!

Walking with Focus

Hi my dear friends, do you or am I holding on to something in our life that we should let go, something that is hindering our walk with the Master? 1 Cor.5:7-8 and Hebrews 12:1-2 tell us that we should be putting away all sin and 1 Thess.5:22 that we should avoid anything that has the appearance of evil. So  let us focus on our relationship with Jesus and keep our eyes on Him and not be distracted by Satan’s side shows.  Have a great day walking in His steps!

Walking Right

Gal. 5:25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

As believers in Christ, we His children have the Holy Spirit dwelling with in us, and we should be listening to His leading eack day and walk acording to that leading.  Romans 8:1-2 tellus to walk after the Spirit ; Romans 6:4,13 walk in the newness of life and Ephesians 5: 8-9 we should be walking or living as the children of light. So let each of us walk or live as Jesus did!

In His Steps

Walking like Christ

Hi Friends, we read in 1 Peter 2:21-24. 21For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

22Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

23Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Note. Verse 21— Christ set us an example, that we should follow His steps, steps unto righteousness or doing what is right as recorded in verse 24.

Titus 2: 11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Walking Right

What are the people seeing a Christian should be when they look at the way we conduct ourselves? Lets look at more Scripture verses that state how we should walk as Jesus walked.

John 6:29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. We are to show in our lives that we believe in Jesus. 1 John 3:23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. We show our belief in Him by showing our love for one another!

2 Cor.2:14-15 14Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

15For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: The way we walk should be pleasing God!

What should a Christian look like?

Hi my friends; In the next few day we are going to search the Bible to see what a Christian should look like. Do I look like this? Do you look like this?

Mark 11:22

Amplified Bible (AMP)

22And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. John 14:

11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  A Christian is seen as one who believes in God!

1 Peter 2:17Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.  Eccl.12:13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.  Christians are to revere and worship God!  [ to be continued ]
