WALKING UPRIGHT

Those walking upright should:

FEAR  GOD— Proverbs 14:He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

LOVE CHRIST—Song of Solomon 1:Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

GOD’S DELIGHT–Proverbs 11:20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to theLord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

FIND STRENGTH IN GOD’S WAY— Proverbs 10:29 The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

OBTAIN GOOD FROM GOD’S WORK — Micah 2:O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of theLord straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

OBTAIN LIGHT IN DARKNESS — Psalm 111:

Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: theLord is gracious and full of compassion.

He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.

They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Uprightness

I was thinking about God and His uprightness. What are some things the Bible says about this thing called being right? In the next few posts we are going to look at some Bible verses about uprightness, so let’s open the pages that tell the truth and learn about being right with God and man.

Isa.26:The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. God the creator is upright!

1 Chron. 29:17 I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.  God takes pleasure in uprightness!

Ecc.7:29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.   God created man upright but man strayed from being upright!

Mankind should show uprightness in:

OUR HEART—-2 Chron.29:34 But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests. Psalm 125:Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

OUR S PEACH— Isa.33:15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

IN OUR WALK — Proverbs 14:He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

IN JUDGING — Psalm 58:Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men? Psalm 75:When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.

IN RULING — Psalm 78:72 So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

Psalm 25

King James Version (KJV)

25 Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

15 Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

Unity of God [ 2 ]

Today we are going to open our Bibles to the following  passages and continue our study on the UNITY OF GOD.

Neh. 9:Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.  Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.  GOD IS THE SOLE OBJECT OF WORSHIP IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH!

Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.  GOD IS THE ONLY GOOD BEING!

Isaiah 45:

21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. GOD IS THE ONLY PROVIDER OF SALVATION!

Deut.4:32 For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?

33 Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

34 Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lordyour God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that theLord he is God; there is none else beside him.    GOD CARES FOR HIS PEOPLE!

John 17:And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. GOD IS THE GIVER OF ETERNAL LIFE!

UNITY OF GOD EXHIBITED

* His great and wonderful works! 2 Sam.7:22 Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.   Psalms 86:10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

* His works of creation and provision! Isa.44:24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;   Isa.45:

I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I theLord have created it.

* His knowing all things! Isa.46:

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

* His Sovereignty!  Deut.32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
