Spiritual Blindness

My mother was blind and could not see the things around her but she was not spiritually blind. She saw that God loved her and she loved Him. What does the Bible say about spiritual blindness?

1 Cor.2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  We are spiritually blind until we hear God’s word and except the truth of it.

Isaiah 29:10 (KJV

10  For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep,

And hath closed your eyes:

The prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

Matthew 6:23

23 But if thine eye be fevil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore gthe light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

John 3:19-20

Amplified Bible (AMP)

19 The [basis of the] judgment (indictment, the test by which men are judged, the ground for the sentence) lies in this: the Light has come into the world, and people have loved the darkness rather than and more than the Light, for their works (deeds) were evil.

20 For every wrongdoer hates (loathes, detests) the Light, and will not come out into the Light but shrinks from it, lest his works (his deeds, his activities, his conduct) be exposed and reproved. Because of SIN we are spiritually blind.

Romans 11:8 (KJV

8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

2 Corinthians 4:3 (KJV

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  Because of UNBELIEF we are spiritually blind.     [ to be continued ]
