Spiritual Blindness

In life so many things pass quickly by, as we travel at in a fast pace world, not seeing all the great things, like beautiful sunsets and sunrises and so many more sights; we become blind to what is around us. We started the other day looking at what the Bible says about ” spiritual blindness”,today we are going to open the good book and look at some more verses about ” spiritual blindness”. In the previous writing we learned that this blindness is: We are blind spiritually until we hear God’s word; We are spiritually blind because of our sin; We are spiritually blind because of unbelief.

2 Corinthians 4:4English Standard Version (ESV)

In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.  The god of this world, Satan, has blinded our eyes.

Ephesians 4:17-19English Standard Version (ESV)

The New Life

17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. 19 They have become callous andhave given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. Spiritual blindness leads us into evil doings.

Matthew 23:19,26. 19/ You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

The self – righteous are spiritually blind t the spiritual truth.

What can we do about this blindness?  We can pray!

Psalm 13:3

English Standard Version (ESV)

Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;
light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,

Psalm 119:18

English Standard Version (ESV)

18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
wondrous things out of your law.
