Saintly Appearance

 

 

In today’s study of saintly appearance we are going to look at a few more Bible verses to help us get a better picture of what a saint should look like.

We read in Deut.7:⁶ “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. Deut. 14:² For you are a holy people to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. Col.3: ¹² Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long suffering; Saints are to be holy!

Psalm 34:2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;

The humble shall hear of it and be glad.

1 Peter 5:5

Submit to God, Resist the Devil

⁵ Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to yourelders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble. These two passages of Scripture say that a saint should walk with humility!

Saints should have a hunger for what is right!  

Matthew 5:⁶ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

    For they shall be filled.

Saints should be seen as just in their walk!  Gen.6:⁹ This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.  Luke 2:²⁵ And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

SAINTLY APPEARANCE

The last blog we looked at some verses about saintly behavior, or what does a Saint look like according to the Scriptures. Today we are going to search God’s word some more and see what it says about saintly appearance.

Revelation 17:14

Victory for the Lamb

¹⁴ These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb willovercome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”  The Bible says that when Christ returns as Lord of Lords and King of Kings, the Saints that are with Him are called  THE CHOSEN AND FAITHFUL.

2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

John 10:4

⁴ When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.²⁷ My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;    Saints are seen FOLLOWING CHRIST!

Psalm 4:3 (KJV )

3  But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself:

The Lord will hear when I call unto him.2 Peter 2:9 (KJV 1900)

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:   Saints are to be seen living GODLY LIVES!

SAINTLY BEHAVIOR

The believers or followers of Christ are called Saints and are to act like it. What does the Bible say about saintly actions? In the next few blogs, we are going to examine this question.

John 10:3-4

THE HUNT

It’s late October, the big bucks are on the run;

they have the scent of doe, the rut has begun.
