DEATH OF THE SAINT [ Continued ]

clouds21

In the last two blogs we have seen what the Bible says about the death of the Saint, today we will take the last look into the Scriptures on this subject.

1/ When a Saint dies his or her soul finds:                                                                                           Job 3:5-17

King James Version (KJV)

5 Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.

6 As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.

7 Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.

8 Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.

9 Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:

10 Because it shut not up the doors of my mother’s womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes.

11 Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

12 Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?

13 For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,

14 With kings and counsellors of the earth, which build desolate places for themselves;

15 Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:

16 Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.

17 There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.      [ WHERE THE WEARY FIND REST ]

2 Th.1: 6-7

King James Version (KJV)

6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, [ note the phrase REST WITH US ]

2/ Luke 16:24-25 (KJV)

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [ COMFORT ]

3/ 2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Phil.1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:  [ PRESENT WITH THE LORD ]

4/ 2 Tim.4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Rev.2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.  [ RECEIVE THE CROWN OF LIFE  ]

5/ Isa.26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.  [ A JOYFUL RESURRECTION ]

6/ 1 Thess.4:

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.  [ KNOWING THAT THE SAINTS ARE WITH CHRIST IS COMFORT FOR WE SAINTS THAT REMAIN UNTIL WE GO HOME  ].

DEATH OF A SAINT [ continued]

clouds21

As we get old or are very sick, death is just over the next horizon, so let us look at some more verses from the Bible on this subject.

Psalm 116:15 (KJV )

15  Precious in the sight of the Lord

Is the death of his saints.  THE WRITER OF THIS PSALM STATES  PRECIOUS IN GOD’S SIGHT IS THE DIEING OF A SAINT.

Psalm 48:14 (KJV)

14  For this God is our God for ever and ever:

He will be our guide even unto death. GOD GUIDES OUR FOOTSTEPS EVEN IN DEATH.

Psalm 23

King James Version (KJV)

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Isaiah 57:1 (KJV)

The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart:

And merciful men are taken away, none considering

That the righteous is taken away from the evil to comeSAINTS ARE REMOVED FROM THE EVIL TO COME.

Death of a Saint

clouds21

As one gets older, he or she thinks about when they will depart from this earth, as I lay thinking i thought what better way to find answers than in our God given manual, the WORD OF GOD.

A. 1 Cor.15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Th. 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

We shall be a sleep in Christ.

B. Rev.14:King James Version (KJV)13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.                                   We shall be blessed. [ happy in Jesus ]

C. Phil.1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

D.1/ Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.                            We die with our faith.

2/ Isa.57:1-2

King James Version (KJV)

1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.                                                                                                                                         We die in and with peace.

3/ Proverbs 14: 32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.                                                                                                                                 We die with hope.

4/ Luke 2:28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,                                                                                      Sometimes to die is desired.

5/ 1 Cor.15: 55  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.             We can face death without fear.

As Jesus hung dying on that cross, He taught us lessons: [ Luke 23:26-49 ]

Verses 26- 31   While carrying His cross we see His concern for others.

Verse 34    We see His forgiveness toward others and we see this in His prayer that His Father would forgive them also.

verse 35-37    The lesson of yield not to temptation was taught as the crowds and soldiers  taunted  Him.

verses 41-43   we see one thief realize the truth and Jesus rewarded him with being with Him in paradise.

Jesus taught us as He was dying:  to have concern for others, show love and compassion toward others, to forgive others, it is not to late to ask for salvation and Jesus will forgive and save you.

LITTLE VESSELS

Little Vessels

We are little vessels,

Created by God’s hand,

Put here a little while,

To walk in this land.

We are little vessels,

Broken and marred by sin,

God knows our every weakness,

He wants to mold us from within.

We are little vessels,

Who need saved from sin,

And by submitting to God our potter,

Salvation will begin.

We are little vessels,

Saved from sin and shame,

Jesus gives us victory,

Because He lives again.

We are little vessels,

Being molded by His spirit,

Because of His love and grace,

And not by our merit.

We are little vessels,

Being shaped, As He would have us be,

Perfect in His sight,

When the face of Jesus we see.

Majesty

Snow flakes, snow flakes softly fluttering down,
landing so softly, not making a sound.
Lightning, lightning brightly coming down,
with a crashing noise as it strikes the ground.
Tornadoes, tornadoes whirling and twisting,
picking up everything with their rushing sound.
Rain drops, rain drops bringing moisture to the ground,
springing the plants their beauty to abound.
Sunshine, sunshine beaming down every hour,
shows God’s majesty over nature,
created by His awesome power.
Salvation, salvation sent down to sinful man,
because of God’s grace through Jesus,
revealing His salvation plan.
Praise God, praise God for all things from above,
showing His mighty hand, His mercy and everlasting love.

SOUNDS

SOUNDS
I love the sound, of the morning dove,
when he calls his mate in love;
I love the sound, of the distant loon,
as he sings his mournful tune;
I love the sound, of the gentle breeze,
as it moves and rustles the leaves;
I love the sound, of the falling rain,
as it strikes against the window pane;
I love the sound, of the babbling brook’
as I sit and dangle my hook;
I love the sound, of the lullaby,
as the mother soothes her child’s cry.
I love the sound, all creation gives,
and shouts the news, our creator lives;
I love the sound, of God’s Holy word,
and the great message it gives to be heard,
salvation and great hope for the lost,
comes from God at great cost.
If this great truth they believe,
eternal life they shall receive.
There is a sound, I am waiting for,
the sound of a great shout,
and a trumpets blare,
when the Saints will meet,
Christ in the air;
We will be ushered to Heaven above,
because of His amazing grace and eternal love.

TRAILS

There are many trails we travel in life,

some bring happiness, others bring strife,

some have ups, some have downs,

some through swamps, some on smooth ground,

some in the rain, and some in the sun,

some at a slow pace, some on the run.

Some trails lead us into temptation,

while others lead us in the right direction.

Trails of this world are from birth to the grave;

the gospel trail leads to where we may be saved.

Dear ones, let us choose trails of happiness not strife,

let us take the trail to eternal life.

The trail Jesus trod before us,

leads us to our heavenly home.

Dear brother, dear sister, let us take the trail Jesus trod,

the trail that takes us into the presence of God.

Spiritual Thinking

Soaring eagle

The day is long,
the day is grey,
the rain and fog,
melt the snow away.
The soul is sad,
the soul is array,
the Bible verses,
and hymns so sweet,
drive those spiritual blues away.
So sing the songs,
and read the words,
and your soul will be happy,
happy all day long,
as you enjoy the message,                                                                                                                  of the greatest love ever heard.
