A WRITING!

February has quickly passed,

As I gaze out my window,

I see four feet of snow

And the thermometer,

Reads twenty decrees below.

On my mind,

And on my lips

these words are found,

Hasten Spring,

With your green leaves

And bare ground;

O, to hear a robin sing,

And the call of the goose

through the valley ring,

To smell the scent of the wild rose,

And to shed these winter clothes.

Still we must be content,

To have what we have

And for God’s blessings sent!

HEAVENLY THOUGHTS

582681_3529892934224_1233024580_n

As I lay here,

with these words running,

through my mind,

” O, come, Angel band,

come and around me stand,

bare me away,

on your snowy wings

to my immortal home.”

One day,

At my Heavenly Father’s timing,

I will be ushered into Heaven

by the sound of Angel’s wings,

a Heavenly choir singing,

as my feet will touch down

on the streets of gold,

to live forever,

and never grow old.

Yes, in this land of cloudless skies,

no pain, no heartaches and no cry’s.

Now, another song floods my soul,

” What a day that will be,

when the face of Jesus,

we shall see.”

Today is sunny and very cold,

I don’t enjoy winter,

since I have got old.

They say spring,

is just around the corner,

and the robin,

soon will be here,

but looking out my window,

a lot of snow,

has to disappear.

Sometimes we worry,

sometimes we complain,

but as we look around

at all the blessings we see,

and all the blessings we claim,

We thank God,

from whom they came.

Yes, all good things come from God,

we say,

so, let’s place our hands together,

and thank Him,

for all our blessings today!

How and what should we pray while in pain and suffering. In the next few days we are going to look at some Bible verses dealing with this subject.

James 5:13 Darby Translation (DARBY)

13 Does any one among you suffer evil? let him pray. Is any happy? let him sing psalms.

WE ARE TO PRAY WHEN WE FACE AFFLICTIONS!

2 Kings 19:16 Darby Translation

16 Incline thine ear, Jehovah, and hear; open, Jehovah, thine eyes, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent him to reproach the living God.

PSALM 9:13 13–O LORD, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death,

LAM.5:1Remember, O LORD, what has happened to us; look, and see our disgrace.

PRAYER AND AFFLICTION #2

Prayers of the afflicted are:

1/ We are to pray for divine comfort and blessing.

Psalm 4:4  Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Psalm 119:73 Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.

74 They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word.

75 I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

76 Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.

2/ We are to pray for our burdens to be lightened.

Psalm 39: 10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.

11 When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.

12 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

13 O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

3/ We are to pray for deliverance from our trials.

Psalm 25:17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

Psalm 39:10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.

4/ We are to pray for a closer walk with God.

Psalm 80: Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Psalm 85: Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.

Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

REFLECTIONS!

letter_writing

As I sit at my desk,

Listening to Scriptures,

And listening to gospel music;

I am being built,

Built up in spirit.

The song I am hearing now,

Is, ” I will serve Thee ”

Sang by Lynda Randle,

And as I listen,

Memories flood my soul.

When I was seventeen,

I called on the name,

The name of Jesus,

And He made me whole

And I thought these same words,

” I will serve Thee,

Because I love Thee,

You mean so much to me.”

A WRITING!

This day is so sunny,

So sunny and bright,

After such a very,

Yes, a very cold night.

The snow is so fluffy,

So fluffy and snow white,

And there is more coming,

it will be here,

After bed time tonight.

The ground hog,

Did not see it’s shadow,

That day was cloudy,

And the beast,

Buried in a hollow log.

So according to it,

Winter will not be here long,

Soon there will be green grass,

And robin’s song.

O, hasten spring,

Show me your freshness,

Your green grass,

And beautiful flowers,

And song birds sing.

Yes, God is good,

God is great;

He prepares for us

A beautiful heavenly place.

There we will roam no more,

We will have eternal life,

I know it is true,

Because God’s word is sure.
