Majesty [ by Winston Staples ]

Wint68

Snow flakes, snowflakes fluttering down, landing so softly, not making a sound. Lightning, lightning brightly coming down, with a crashing noise as it strikes the ground. Tornadoes, tornadoes whirling and twisting, picking everything up with a frightning sound. Rain drops, rain drops bringing moisture to the ground, springing forth flowers their beauty to abound. Sunshine, sunshine shining brightly down showing God’s awesome creation all around. Salvation, salvation sent down to sinful man, because of His grace, through Jesus, revealed His salvation plan. Praise God! Praise God! for all things from above, showing His mighty hand, His mercy, and everlasting love.

ROAD OUT BACK

Wint68

beaver-dam-construction

It was late,

late in the day;

I got on the wheeler,

and drove slowly on the way.

I quickly saw two doe,

not spooked,

as I drove slow.

I love this old road,

that leads me,

to my favorite spot,

the spot where the red pine,

red pine trees grow.

I, now sit,

at the old beaver pond,

where the beaver play,

and the brook trout spawn.

I sit, listening,

to the gentle breeze,

as it whispers through,

those red pine trees.

I hear the crickets,

as lazy I grow,

as I hear the cawing,

cawing of the crow.

I meditate on God’s word,

and say thank you,

for the sights I see,

and sounds I have heard.

I say thank you,

for giving me your Son,

and the victory won.

Thank you for my friends,

and family here;

now I drive slowly back,

knowing God will keep me,

choose your bridges carefully!

BRIDGES Bridges were designed, to cross a divide, some may be narrow, others may be wide. Some are made of concrete, while others may be steel or wood; some lead to heartache, while others lead to good. Some cross valleys, others cross rivers and streams; others may lead to trouble, others may lead us, to fulfill our dreams. Bridges cross many divides, created by man, except the gap called sin, only the Cross of Jesus, this gulf can span. God, provides a bridge, Jesus, is His name; He can bridge the sin gap, when His salvation we claim. So if you want to get to heaven, there is only one way, that way is Jesus! trust in Him today. —— Winston Staples —–

God’s Call!

Wint68

God calls man to HOLINESS! 1Thess. 4:For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

God calls man to LIBERTY!  Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

God calls man to PEACE!  1 Cor.7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.  Col. 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

God calls man to GLORY AND VIRTUE!  2 Peter 1:According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath…

JUST THINKING!

images (4)

I am thinking,

about days of the past,

when I used to hunt,

those white tails that run so fast.

How we loved,

the fresh fallen snow,

so we could see,

the direction those deer would go.

I loved to walk,

through the pine,

on the frozen ground,

over the icy ponds,

it,s so good,

to go back,

and walk in memory,

this memory of mine.

Thank you Father,

for the past,

and for the now

and life evermore.

AWAKE!

Wint68

AWAKE!

Awake, my mind awake! Meditate on God;

His words and grace so freely given.

Awake, my eyes awake! See God’s gift of salvation.

Awake, my ears awake! Hear His words of comfort given.

Awake, my tongue awake! Proclaim His truth of redemption.

Awake, my mouth awake! Sing His praise and glory forever.

Awake, my heart awake! Be filled with God’s spirit.

Awake, my arms awake! Embrace His mercy forever.

Awake, my hands awake! Serve Him in His awesome creation.

Awake, my knees awake! Bow in prayer with humble adoration.

Awake, my legs awake! Stand firm with great devotion.

Awake, my feet awake! Follow the steps Jesus trod before us.

Awake, my soul awake! Praise God for His love and favor.

Rejoice, my being rejoice! Dwell with Christ forever.

AUTUMN QUOTES

70 PLUS WINT!

The days may not be so bright and balmy—yet the quiet and melancholy that linger around them is fraught with glory. Over everything connected with autumn there lingers some golden spell—some unseen influence that penetrates the soul with its mysterious power. ~Northern Advocate

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came,—
The Ashes, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The sunshine spread a carpet,
And every thing was grand;
Miss Weather led the dancing;
Professor Wind, the band….
The sight was like a rainbow
New-fallen from the sky….
~George Cooper, “October’s Party”

The time of the falling leaves has come again. Once more in our morning walk we tread upon carpets of gold and crimson, of brown and bronze, woven by the winds or the rains out of these delicate textures while we slept.
How beautifully the leaves grow old! How full of light and color…

Last night I was thinking how people fear death and it’s unknown, even those following Jesus. These portions of Scripture came into my mind.

John 14:1-6

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

14 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions;[a] if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.[b] 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one…

Say Thank you

70 PLUS WINT!

SAY THANK YOU

When you awake at dawn,

and are still able to yawn,

say thank you!

If you are tired and groggy,

and your mind is still foggy,

say thank you!

If you can still tie your shoes,

and smell the coffee brew,

say thank you!

If you can walk out the door,

and go to the store,

say thank you!

If you have a dear friend,

and have precious time to spend,

say thank you!

If you can begin each day,

and are able to pray,

say thank you!

If you can take time to be still,

and read God’s word,

and seek His will,

say thank you!

Even with all my sin,

by God’s grace,

into His sheltering arms,

He welcomed me in,

and I will always say thank you!
