MOTHER’S LILAC BUSH

Mother's lilac bush was planted
a long time ago, about 1938,
it bloomed every year,
about the same time,
and it survived many ants,
and so many storms,
more than I can contemplate.
The house is long gone,
but not that old bush,
there is still a piece,
in my daughter's yard,
it still blooms,
even when times are good,
and when times are hard.

CHRISTIAN LIBERTY (4)

TODAY LET US CONTINUE OUR STUDY OF CHRISTIAN LIBERTY ACCORDING TO GOD'S WORD.

Psalm 116:16-17 New King James Version

16 O Lord, truly I am Your servant;
I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant;
You have loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And will call upon the name of the Lord.

WE SHOULD PRAISE GOD FOR OUR LIBERTY!

1 Corinthians 10:29 New King James Version

29 “Conscience,” I say, not your own, but that of the other. For why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience?

WE SHOULD ASSERT OUR LIBERTY!

Psalm 119:45 New King James

45 And I will walk at liberty,
For I seek Your precepts.

WE SHOULD WALK IN OUR LIBERTY!

Galatians 2:5 New King James

to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. 5:Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,[a] and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

WE ARE TO STAND FAST IN OUR LIBERTY!        ( TO BE CONTINUED )

CHRISTIAN LIBERTY (3)

Today is lesson three on Christian Liberty as recorded in THE WORD OF GOD.

Christian liberty is freedom from:

The law—  Ro 7:6; 8:2- For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 7:But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

The curse of the law. — Ga 3:13–Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

The fear of death. — Heb 2:15–And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Sin. — Ro 6:7,18–For he that is dead is freed from sin.–18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness

Corruption. — Ro 8:21- Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

My observations

book-old-books-open-school_3205826AS I look out my window,I observe a very gray overcast sky; The weather man is calling for snow to start at any time and we are to receive from 10 to 12 inches before it stops. I also see many beautiful black and white Chickadees flying by my window to get seeds from my feeder hanging on a clothes line near by. A red squirrel would like some of those seeds and is trying to walk the line to get there. As I look and enjoy, I also ponder the past and how fast it has flown bye, it seems like yesterday I was running up that hill, I am seeing now, but it was 65 years ago; They say time flies when you are having fun; I must have had a blast for that 65 years has quickly past. The Bible tells me if I have faith in…

CHRISTIAN LIBERTY (2)

John 8: 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Today let us continue our study of Christian Liberty by reading Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. and 2 Cor.3: 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

These verses tell us that CHRISTIAN LIBERTY was also conferred by the HOLY SPIRIT!

The GOSPEL also confers CHRISTIAN LIBERTY!     —- John 8: 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

CHRISTIAN LIBERTY is CONFIRMED BY CHRIST! —-  John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

CHRISTIAN LIBERTY is PROCLAIMED BY CHRIST! —- Isaiah 61: 1  The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; and Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

The SERVICE OF CHRIST is CHRISTIAN LIBERTY! —- 1 Cor.7:22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.       ( to be continued )

CHRISTIAN LIBERTY.

I want to see some things the Bible says about Christian liberty, so let's see together my friends.

Isaiah 42:7 King James Version

To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Isaiah 61:1 King James Version

61 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

OUR LIBERTY IN CHRIST WAS FORETOLD!

Colossians 1:13 King James Version

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

OUR LIBERTY IN CHRIST WAS CONFERRED BY GOD!

Galatians 4:3–5 (KJV )

Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption–

Romans 8:15 (KJV)

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Cabins!

Our Cabins

When my wife and I go for drives in the country, we are delighted

when we see a lovely log cabin. The view of these lovely cabins

takes me back in my thoughts to the pioneer days. The pioneers

traveled far, traveled slow and worked hard. Their cabins were not

fancy or brightly painted, there was no landscaping done, no lawns

to mow; that might have been a good thing. They built their cabins

by the sweat of their brow. These cabins were not much by our

standards today but to them it was their castle; it was their life

or death in the harsh winter. Yes, they were hard working people,

people with high moral standards, standards which this country

was built on. We, as a nation need to return to and use these

moral standards today; let God fill our cabins with His love and

build our country on that. Let us put our faith in Jesus and He will

build us a home in Heaven, not a simple cabin but a mansion.

We read in 2 Cor.5:1 ” For we know that if our earthly house of

this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house

not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
