GOD IS SOVEREIGN!

God is in total control and is totally supreme; He does as He wills! Here are a few Bible verses about the Sovereign God.

Psalms 135:⁶ Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. Psalms 38:⁸ I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.⁹ Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.¹⁰ My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.¹¹ My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

Ephesians 1:¹¹ In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Isaiah 46:⁹ Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,¹⁰ Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:¹¹ Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

Matthew 14:²⁷ But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

Daniel 4:³² And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. Daniel 4:³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?³⁶ At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.³⁷ Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

Psalms 91:He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.² I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.³ Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. Yes God is the creator of all things and He is SOVEREIGN!

Deafening Silence

Deafening silence everywhere,

a little voice seems to say,

no body really cares;

Deafening silence everywhere,

then another voice I hear,

saying, I will never leave,

nor forsake you, I am here;

My three persons are one,

God the Father, God the Spirit,

and God the Son.

Deafening  silence,

is good sometimes,

a time to meditate,

write words that comfort,

write words that ryhmn;

Then another small voice,

I seem to hear,

words, write them down,

one by one,

they may encourage,

they may cheer someone.

THE HOLY SPIRIT THE TEACHER [3]

*Teaches Saints to answer persecuters>>Mark 13:¹¹ But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. >>Luke 12:¹² For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

*Enables Ministers to teach>>⁸ For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

*Directs the decisions of the Church>>Acts 15:²⁸ For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

*Guide s onto all truth>> John 14:⁶ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.>>John 16:¹³ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

*Attends to the instruction of the Holy Spirit>> Rev.2:⁷ He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.>>Rev.2:¹¹ He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

*The natural man will not receive the things of the Holy Spirit>>1Cor.2:¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

THE HOLY SPIRIT [the teacher][2]

HE REVEALS:

*The things of God—1 Cor.2:¹⁰ But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.¹³ Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

*The things of Christ—John 16:¹⁴ He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

*The future—Luke 2:²⁶ And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. [Acts 21:11]¹¹ And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

*Helps us remember God’s word—John 14:²⁶ But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

*Directs the way of Godliness—Isa.30:²¹ And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Ezekiel 36:²⁷ And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

 

THE HOLY SPIRIT [ the teacher ][1]

• The Holy Spirit promised—Proverbs 1:²³ Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
• He is the Spirit of Wisdom—Isaiah 11:² And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; Isaiah 40:¹³ Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his counsellor hath taught him?¹⁴ With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
• He is Given:a/ in answer to prayer—Ephesians 1:¹⁶ Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;¹⁷ That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: [b] To Saints—Nehemiah 9:²⁰ Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst. 1 Cor.2:¹³ Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
• The Holy Spirit is Needed For—1 Cor.2:⁹ But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.¹⁰ But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

THE PERSONALITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT [5]

*Eph.4:³⁰ And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. [The Holy Spirit can grieve!]

*Isaiah 63:¹⁰ But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. [The Holy Spirit can be provoked!]

*Acts 7:⁵¹ Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. [ The Holy Spirit can be resisted!]

*Acts 5:⁹ Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. [ T he Holy Spirit can be tempted!]

THE PERSONALITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT[4]

*He has power of His own—Romans 15:¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

*He serches all things—Romans 11:³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!³⁴ For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?1 Cor.2:¹⁰ But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.¹¹ For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

*He works according to His will—1 Cor.12:⁸ For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;⁹ To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;¹⁰ To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:¹¹ But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

*He dwells with Saints—John 14:¹⁷ Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

THE PERSONALITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT [3]

*He Teaches—John 14:²⁶ But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 1 Cor.12:³ Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

*He Guides—John 16:¹³ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

*He Sacntifies—Romans 15:¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. 1 Cor.6:¹¹ And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

*He Testifies of Christ—John 15:²⁶ But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

*He Glorifies Christ—John 16:¹⁴ He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
