Today’s exploration into God’s word is on RESPECTING SPIRITUAL LEADERS. Read along in your Bibles and underline key words or phrases.
Reading from NASB.
Joshua 1:16 They answered Joshua, saying, “All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you; only may the Lord your God be with you as He was with Moses. 18 Anyone who rebels against your[a]command and does not obey your words in all that you command him, shall be put to death; only be strong and courageous.”
1 Thess.5:12 But we request of you, brethren, that you [a]appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you [b]instruction, 13 and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another. 14 We urge you, brethren, admonish the [c]unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
1 Timothy 5:17 The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard [a]at preaching and teaching.18 For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing,” and “The laborer is worthy of his wages.” 19 Do not receive an accusation against an elder except on the basis of two or three witnesses. 20 Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning.
Hebrews 13: 6 so that we confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
What will man do to me?”
7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the [a]result of their conduct, imitate their faith.
