Today our topic is God’s Sacrifice. In life we are called upon to make sacrifices for our needs or the needs of others. When mankind fell from God’s standards by eating the forbidden fruit; we have been separated from a personal relationship with God. In order to have that relationship back, God gave a supreme sacrifice of love. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Other verses that speak about God’s sacrifice are: Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Ephesians 5: Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
