EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [48]

Truth is a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like. What are some things the Bible states about truth? Here are a few verses I want you to look at with me and maybe something will speak to us that will cause us to think about the importance of truth.

*Psalms 10: 16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

*Proverbs 23: Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

10 Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:

11 For their redeemer is mighty; he shall plead their cause with thee.

12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.

*2 Cor.10: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

*1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

*John 17: 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

*John 14: Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

JANUARY BURRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

January burrrrrrr,

cold winds blow,

we get warm,

beneath the furrrrrrr.

January burrrrrrr,

when the days,

slip bye,

sometimes fast,

sometimes slow,

when the January days,

makes us say burrrrrrr!

Soon these January days,

cold January days,

will be past,

but now,

all I can say,

is burrrrrrr!

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [47]

TOPIC:  God’s love! When I think about God’s love, these words enter my mind, words like amazing, everlasting, eternal, unconditional, agape, faithful, abounding and the list goes on. I am so thankful that God’s love didn’t cease when mankind ate from the forbidden tree. His love is everlasting and a precious gift of HIS GRACE,  AMAZING GRACE that saved a worm like myself. I want us to a moment to open God’s Word to the following verses and mark the key word or words that speak of His Love.

*Deuteronomy 7:8 (KJV)
8 But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
*Jeremiah 31: At the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.2 Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
*John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
*Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
*Eph.2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
*2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
*1 John 3: Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

JUST THINKING!

CREATED
While strolling through the woods today,
I was awed by the beauty of creation,
I was seeing along the way,
it encircled my being.
The baby blue sky,
the multitude of brightly colored leaves,
red, orange, yellow and gold,
their beauty, breath taking to behold.
The sparkling water of the beaver dam,
reflecting all the beauty around about,
caused my heart to want to shout.
Praise God! Praise God!
To God, our Creator there is no doubt.
Yes, all these things seen,
were created by the voice of God,
the creator of everything.
The only exception was man,
we were created by God’s mighty hand.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [46]
Topic: REDEMPTION —– ransom payment in full. After man’s fall in Eden God’s grace, mercy and love placed a salvation plan in place for redemption. This redemption payment in full called for the shedding of blood. God gave His only SON to shed HIS blood on the OLD RUGGED CROSS and all who called upon the NAME OF JESUS is redeemed. Below are some Bible verses about being redeemed.
*Psalms 31:5 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.
*Psalms 130:7 Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
*Luke 1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
*Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
*Eph.4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
*Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
*1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

LOOKING!

It is a quiet Sunday morn,

I look up the road;

I look over the hills,

and I look across the valley,

everything is still.

My old body feels so worn,

even after this handful,

handful of pills.

Some Days we have pain,

pain deep in our soul,

and Satan,

in our time of weakness,

wants our body in his control.

We open our Bibles;

We bow in prayer,

trust in Jesus,

He is the living word,

the truth, the way,

and giver of Eternal Life.

God gives us strength,

to make it through the days,

so let’s say thank you Father

everyday in prayer,

open our mouths,

and give Him praise!

sounds [ by Winston Staples ]

O, how great are the sounds God grants us to hear!

Wint68

I love the sound of the morning dove, when he calls his mate in love, I love the sound of the distant loon, as he sings his mournful tune, I love the sound of the gentle breeze, as it moves and rustles the leaves, I love the sound of the falling rain, as it strikes against the window pane, I love the sound of the babbling brook, as I sit and dangle my hook, I love the sound of the lullaby, as a mother soothes her child’s cry. I love the sound all creation gives, and shouts the news our creator lives! I love the sound of God’s Holy Word, and the great message it gives to be heard; salvation and great hope for the lost, comes from God at a great cost. If this great truth they believe, eternal life they will receive. There is a sound, I am…

SNOW FLAKES

Snow flakes, snow flakes, falling softly to the ground,
landing so gentle, not making a sound,
snow flakes, snow flakes, so fluffy and white,
slowly piling up, making everything white.
Sun beams, sun beams, shining brightly down,
slowly, slowly, warming the ground.
Sun beams, sun beams, shining brightly down.
Looking, listening , to the beauty all around,
praising God for His creation, of everything around!

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [45]

TOPIC: BE NOT AFRAID

All through life we experience times of fear; some folk seem to be afraid of everything. When we walk with God, He is our comfort and refuge and a sense of calmness as we go through the storms of life. I have sensed that calmness laying waiting for major surgery as it seemed to be HIS hand holding mine. Let’s take our Bibles and look at some scripture that teaches us not to be afraid.

Joshua 1:Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Psalms 37:Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 43:1/But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Hebrews 13: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

1 Peter 5:Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
