sounds [ by Winston Staples ]

O, how great are the sounds God grants us to hear!

Wint68's Blog

I love the sound of the morning dove, when he calls his mate in love, I love the sound of the distant loon, as he sings his mournful tune, I love the sound of the gentle breeze, as it moves and rustles the leaves, I love the sound of the falling rain, as it strikes against the window pane, I love the sound of the babbling brook, as I sit and dangle my hook, I love the sound of the lullaby, as a mother soothes her child’s cry. I love the sound all creation gives, and shouts the news our creator lives! I love the sound of God’s Holy Word, and the great message it gives to be heard; salvation and great hope for the lost, comes from God at a great cost. If this great truth they believe, eternal life they will receive. There is a sound, I am…

soft snow is falling outside!

Wint68's Blog

Snow flakes, snow flakes, falling softly to the ground,
landing so gentle, not making a sound,
snow flakes, snow flakes, so fluffy and white,
slowly piling up, making everything white.
Sun beams, sun beams, shining brightly down,
slowly, slowly, warming the ground.
Sun beams, sun beams, shining brightly down.
Looking, listening , to the beauty all around,
praising God for His creation, of everything around!

All through life we experience times of fear; some folk seem to be afraid of everything. When we walk with God, He is our comfort and refuge and a sense of calmness as we go through the storms of life. I have sensed that calmness laying waiting for major surgery as it seemed to be HIS hand holding mine. Let’s take our Bibles and look at some scripture that teaches us not to be afraid.

Joshua 1:Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Psalms 37:Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 43:1/But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Hebrews 13: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

1 Peter 5:Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Deafening Silence

Wint68's Blog

Deafening silence everywhere,

a little voice seems to say,

no body really cares;

Deafening silence everywhere,

then another voice I hear,

saying, I will never leave,

nor forsake you, I am here;

My three persons are one,

God the Father, God the Spirit,

and God the Son.

Deafening  silence,

is good sometimes,

a time to meditate,

write words that comfort,

write words that ryhmn;

Then another small voice,

I seem to hear,

words, write them down,

one by one,

they may encourage,

they may cheer someone.

God has compassion on those who offend Him!

Psalm 62:12 Also unto Thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy, for Thou renderest to every man according to his work. [Psalm 89:14] Justice and judgment are the habitation of Thy throne; mercy and truth shall go before Thy face. [ Psalm 106:44-45]44 Nevertheless He regarded their affliction when He heard their cry,45 and He remembered for them His covenant, and repented according to the multitude of His mercies.[Psalm 116:5]Gracious is the Lord and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. [Psalm 17:7]Show Thy marvelous lovingkindness, O Thou that savest by Thy right hand them that put their trust in Thee from those that rise up against them.

Romans 9:14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid!15 For He saith to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I will…

It is just about noon,
soon the soup,
will be in my bowl,
and on the spoon.
It has been foggy,
now a day or two,
now I look out,
and see the sun,
breaking through.
Our spirits are sometimes,
foggy and grey,
pain creeps in,
our hearts and minds,
and Satan tries to,
ruin our souls.
Thank God,
He sent His SON,
to save and control.
No matter our circumstance,
through Christ,
our spiritual victory is won.

Last evening th…

God created a perfect creation!

Wint68's Blog

Last evening the sun had just gone down over the western horizon and the big round moon was just peaking it face through the scattered clouds in the eastern skies, The color of the rising moon was orange as it’s true light was shadowed by the clouds. About twenty minutes latter the beautiful moon was shining so bright on the fresh white snow, creating a picture of beauty on the landscape below. I thought this is a picture of our lives, as some days our light gets dimmed by the cloudy world about us and as we get back into the word of God it charges our spiritual battery so our little lights can shine bright again.
