Assurance continued:

  • Assurance of union with God and Christ — 1 Cor.6:   15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.   2Cor.13:Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?    Eph. 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.  Also look at 1 John 2:5; 4:13.
  • Assurance of peace with God by Christ.  Romans 5:Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
  •  Assurance of preservation.     Psalms 3:I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.   Ps.27:Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

    One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

    For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.   Ps.46: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

    Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

    Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

  • Assurance of answers of prayers.    1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.   1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.      [ to be continued ]

The gospel is the law of — Jas 1:25; 2:12

To finish our time in searching what the Bible says about Christian liberty lets search the verses above noted:

We should not use our liberty to offend others.

1 Corinthians 8:9 New King James Version

But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak.

1 Corinthians 10:29,32 (NKJV)

29 “Conscience,” I say, not your own, but that of the other. For why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience? 32 Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God,

The Gospel is the law of Liberty:

James 1:25 New King James Version

SOMETIMES WHEN I SIT,

LONGINGS COME TO ME,

LONGINGS TO TRAVEL,

TO FAR AWAY PLACES,

TO HEAR DIFFERENT SOUNDS,

DIFFERENT FACES SEE.

LONGINGS TO WALK,

ALONG MOUNTAIN TRAILS,

ALONG THE SEAS,

AND THROUGH GARDENS,

MANY FLOWERS TO SEE.

SOME DAYS I LONG,

LONG FOR HEAVEN,

THERE JESUS I WILL SEE,

IN THIS HEAVENLY PLACE,

NO PAIN AND SORROW,

NO CLOUDY SKIES WILL BE,

NO MORE LONGINGS FOR ME.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD 50 [b]

Assurance continued:

Saints are privileged to have assurance of:

*Their redemption: Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

*Their adoption: Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  1John 3:Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

*Their salvation: Isaiah 12:Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [fifty part 1]

The word we are exploring today is assurance.  When we think about eternity and where we will spend it; we seek assurance that Heaven will be our eternal abode.

Now let us open our Bible to the following verses about assurance.

*Ephesians 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.  [ Assurance is produced by faith ]

*Hebrews 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; [ Assurance is made complete by hope ].

*1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. [Assurance is confirmed by love ].

*Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. [ Assurance is the effect of righteousness ].

*Colossians 2:That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 1Thess.1:For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.  [ Assurance is made abundant by the understanding of the gospel ].

FALLING SOFTLY!

jake70

Snow, wet snow,

falling on the pines,

sticking to the branches,

sticking to the power lines.

Snow, wet snow,

fluttering to the ground,

fluttering so slow,

softly not making a sound.

A good lesson,

lesson can be learned,

from this soft falling snow,

for our Christian walk,

to be humble,

and speak lovingly softly,

as we walk and grow.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [49]

Todays exploration is the WISDOM OF GOD:  It is God and His wisdom who created all things and keeps everything working in the way HE planned it. God is all wise! Our wisdom placed or measured beside God’s wisdom would be nothing as nothing compares with the wisdom of God [in my opinion]. In today’s world it is about technology and the wisdom of man. So let’s look at a few verses that speak about the wisdom of God.

*Job 28:12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?

13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

14 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.

15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.

18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?

21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.

22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.

24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;

25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.

28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

*Daniel 2:18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.

*Luke 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

*Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

*1 Cor.1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Colossians 2:1/ For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

ROADS!

Roads

Some roads are long and narrow,

some roads have hills dangerously steep,

some roads are short and wide,

some roads have valleys very deep.

All roads have a beginning;

all roads have an end.

but all roads are not our friend.

The Bible speaks of two roads,

one narrow and one wide,

the wide road leads to destruction;

it’s on this road,

every ones journey begins.

the other road,

the straight and narrow,

is where God wants you to be.

This road is entered by knowing Jesus,

our one true guide, you see.

This road leads to Heaven,

with Jesus by our side;

when we reach Heaven,

there with God, we will abide.

Dear friend, on what road are you?

If you are on the wide road,

the road of despair,

I pray, that you will call upon Jesus

to detour you from there.
