The word we are exploring today is assurance. When we think about eternity and where we will spend it; we seek assurance that Heaven will be our eternal abode.
Now let us open our Bible to the following verses about assurance.
*Ephesians 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. [ Assurance is produced by faith ]
*Hebrews 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; [ Assurance is made complete by hope ].
*1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. [Assurance is confirmed by love ].
*Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. [ Assurance is the effect of righteousness ].
*Colossians 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 1Thess.1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. [ Assurance is made abundant by the understanding of the gospel ].
