EXPLORING GOD’S WORD 50 d

Assurance continued:

  • Assurance of union with God and Christ — 1 Cor.6:   15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.   2Cor.13:Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?    Eph. 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.  Also look at 1 John 2:5; 4:13.
  • Assurance of peace with God by Christ.  Romans 5:Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
  •  Assurance of preservation.     Psalms 3:I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.   Ps.27:Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

    One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

    For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.   Ps.46: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

    Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

    Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

  • Assurance of answers of prayers.    1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.   1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.      [ to be continued ]
