A BECKONING!

Come hither, come hither,

young person,

to where,

the pine trees grow.

Come hither, come hither,

young person,

where the babbling brook,

so gently flows.

Come hither, come hither,

young person,

come and see,

the wildflowers,

in the lane,

where they  beautifully,

beautifully grow.

Come hither, come hither,

young person,

open the word,

the wonderful word of God,

it will guide you,

as you travel this sod.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [63]

Topic:repentance continued

a/ Derived from gift of: 1/ GOD—- Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified [God], saying, Then hath [God] also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

2/ CHRIST—- Acts 5:31 Him hath God [exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour], for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

3/HOLY SPIRIT—- Zech.12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [the spirit of grace and of supplications]: and they shall look [upon me whom they have pierced], and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

JUST THINKING!

I awoke this morning,

put my feet on the floor,

my head was aching,

and my throat was sore.

I said thank you,

to my Creator,

for this day,

because I could,

read His word,

and for my needs,

and others could pray.

So, no matter what state,

no matter the place,

You can call HIm;

His line is not busy,

He hears our prayer;

He may answer instantly,

and sometimes you must wait!

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [62]

TOPIC: Repentance. [ to turn around, 180 degree turn a round ] To turn from the darkness of sin to the light of an eternal God.

*To turn—– Acts 9:35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

*To repent—– Acts 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

*To return—– 1 Samuel 7:And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

*To convert—– Acts 15:And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

KINDS OF REPENTANCE:

*Natural—– Joel 3: Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:

The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.

Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:

And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the Lord hath spoken it.

*Internal—– Ps.51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

*Unavailing—– Heb.12: 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

*True—– Read 9:1-20

*Unreal—– Exodus 9: 27 And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the Lord is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

28 Intreat the Lord (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.

29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the Lord; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the Lord‘s.

30 But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the Lord God.

31 And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.

32 But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up.

33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the Lord: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.

34 And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.

35 And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the Lord had spoken by Moses.
