STEPS LEADING TO REPENTANCE: [a] God’s long suffering—- 2 Peter 3:⁹ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

[b] God’s goodness —- Romans 2:⁴ Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

[c] The Conviction of Sin —- Acts 2: ³⁷ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

³⁸ Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

JUST THINKING!

I sit here gazing out my study windows at the hills and the trees so bare. There is a certain beauty on those hills and it is the many shades of evergreens sprinkled here and there in the hardwoods. Soon those hillsides will be covered with nature’s quilt, a fresh fall of snow. November has a bleakness to it and soon December will be ushered in with all the colors of Christmas and the sounds of all the carols ringing through the Christmas air in the Christmas spirit.

JUST THINKING!

As I sit and look out my study window at all the bare branches of the Aspens with a few Chick-a-dees flying to and fro out of them, my mind flashes back seventy years and how I would take my blind mother out through them to a big rock, there we would sit and rest. Then we would walk back to the house and make doughnuts; These are precious memories to remember and ponder upon!

A DREARY MONTH!

It’s November: It is November 10, it is a dreary month, foggy and raining again. The beautiful leaves are fallen, it seems so bare; I take a second look, there is still beauty everywhere; the ridge is covered with tall Aspen trees, with many ever greens growing between; then I thank God, that I am able to see, all these blessings, He has given to me.~ Winston Staples
