EXPLORING GOD’S WORD 68b

Serving God: Rewards for service  [a] Divine honor—- John 12:28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

[b]Acceptance before God—- Romans 14:16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

[c] Inheritance— Col.3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

[d] Eternal blessedness—- Rev. 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. [ Rev. 22: And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:]

Patience!

In this day of fast foods, fast cars and fast communication we see less patience than any other time in our history. The only place we find a lot of patience is the doctor’s office. Being adopted children of God through the shed blood of His Only Begotten Son; we are to be patient. Patience is listed as a sign of growing in grace. We read in 2 Peter 1: 5-8 “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”. Patience is also included in the fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5: “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ let us be filled with the Holy Spirit and allow Him to produce the produce the fruit of His Spirit in our lives so others can see Christ in our life. Let us show patience to our fellow man in all aspects as we daily walk with Jesus as our Master and guide.
