TOPIC: FULNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Scripture:

Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

The word filled here means to have a constant flow of the Spirit is continually flowing therefore being always full of the Holy Spirit. When a believer is filled by the Spirit, with the Spirit, they are walking in the Spirits way; talking the Spirits words and have understanding of the things of God.

Illustration: We are filled with the Spirit when we confess our sins.

1John 1:If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We are filled by the Holy Spirit when we yield to Him. Romans 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

We can be filled if we have desire and prayer.  Matt.5:Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Every Christian should be filled with the Holy Spirit to give them power to serve HIM. Acts 1: 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

First Ref. Ex.35:31 And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;

Let us close with these two Scripture verses: Eph.5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;   1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
To do God’s work we need to be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit!

In this blog I am sharing some quotes and Bible verses on the word “wisdom”.
Quote: Patience is a companion of wisdom. ~ St. Augustine
Bible Verse: 2 Chron.9:And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.
This verse tells us that wisdom worth seeking is the wisdom given by God through His creation and His word.
Quote: The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom. ~ Isaac Asimov
The Bible states in James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. And in Psalm 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Then in Proverbs 2:6,7 we read: For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
We read in Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. [ God is the provider of wisdom and understanding]
Colossians 2: 2-4 tells us God is the true giver of wisdom.
Colossians2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
So if we seek wisdom let us turn to God’s word! Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
