Topic: The Affliction of Saints

As followers of Christ there is great affliction! What does the Bible say about affliction of the Saints? In the next little while we are going to see just what the Bible says as I share some Bible Verses with you.

Psalms 46:5,7; Isaiah 43:2,3– God is with us in our affliction!
Psalms 27:5,6; Isaiah 25:4; Nahum 1:7– God is our refuge and strength in our trouble!
Nahum 1:7
King James Version (KJV)
7The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Psalms 34:19,20–God preserves us in our afflictions!
“Affliction comes to us, not to make us sad but sober; not to make us sorry but wise.”
Henry Ward Beecher quotes

Heaven on My Mind!

Heaven on my mind: In the last few weeks, two of my dear sisters in the Lord have passed from this life and entered into the glory of Heaven. I have looked at the following scriptures and my dear friends will not find these things there:
Death. Luke 20:36
King James Version (KJV)36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Flesh and blood —- 1 Cor.15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Nothing will perish — 1Cor.15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 50/ Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Sorrow — Rev.7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Pain — Rev.21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Curse — Rev.22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
Darkness — Rev.22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
No wicked people — Rev.22:
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
No End — Rev.22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
What a place heaven must be; I believe it is a lot like the Garden of Eden before sin entered in and the curse began on God’s great creation.

Old Hymns

Wint68's Blog

I love looking through hymn books and reading the great hymns of the past and pray that they will be continued to be sung in the present and future. I came across this hymn titled” Now Thank We all Our God” and two verses go as follows:
Oh may the bounteous God
through all our life be near us,
with ever joyful hearts
and blessed peace to cheer us,
and keep us in His grace,
and guide us when perplexed,
and free us from all ills
in this world and next.

All praise and thanks to God
the Father now be given,
the Son, and Him who reigns
with them in highest heaven,
the one eternal God,
whom heaven and earth adore;
for thus it was, and is now,
and shall be for evermore.

TOPIC: DIVISIONS:

*FORBIDDEN IN THE CHURCH   1 Cor.1:10 Now I beseech you,[ brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you;] but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

*CONDEMNED IN THE CHURCH    1 COR. 1:11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?; 11:Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. [ WE ARE JOINED IN CHRIST AND LET NO ONE OR MORE THAN ONE DIVIDE US FROM THE LOVE AND TRUTH OF CHRIST! ]UN

*UNBECOMING IN THE CHURCH      1 COR.12:24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

DIV TO THEISIONS ARE CONTRARY TO THE:

*THE UNITY OF CHRIST

1 COR.1:13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?; 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

*DESIRES OF CHRIST

JOHN 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.  [ HIS DESIRE THAT WE ALL BE A UNIT OF UNITY ]

*PURPOSE OF CHRIST

JOHN 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

*SPIRIT OF THE CHURCH:

1 COR.11:16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.    [ THE SPIRIT OF THE CHURCH IS UNITY IN CHRIST!].

DIVISIONS ARE PROOF OF A CARNAL CHURCH

1 COR.3:For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

*AVOID THOSE WHO CAUSE DIVISIONS

ROMANS 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Favorite Bible Chapters!

This morning one of my readings was Psalms 3 which seemed to speak to me and I decided to share it!

Psalm 3 King James Version (KJV)

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

I trust this chapter blesses you too!
