On this wonderful January day of the year 2020, I am thinking about the church of today where hymns and choruses are seen on overhead screens by present day technology. Today hymn books are hardly used anymore and the good old blood sacrifice of Christ hymns for our sins are all about forgotten. I penned a writing a few years ago on this subject and I share them now.
Some folks seem to be offended by singing about the blood and want hymns that sing about the blood of Christ removed. Hymns like, ” Redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb”; There is power in the blood”; ” Alas! And did my Savior bleed”; ” Saved by the blood of the Crucified One”; ” When I see the blood”; ” My faith has found a resting place”, and many others. Dear folk, if we remove the blood, we remove the gospel; If we remove the blood, we remove our hope; If we remove the blood, we remove the Savior. We remove His love, His grace and His salvation. Without the shedding of the blood of Jesus, we have no hope of salvation and no hope of Heaven. With out the shedding of the blood of Jesus we have no remission of sins and no hope for mankind. Jesus said, ” I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man cometh to the Father but by me.” The shedding of the blood of Jesus purchased our ticket to Heaven! ~ Winston Staples

MY GOD IS REAL
MY GOD IS REAL
Some people go from day to day, not thinking about God.
Others say there is no God, that He is not real. As I am sitting here
writing this I am looking out my window viewing the beauty
of nature around me and I wonder how any one could say,
there is no God or He is not real. I see my God, in each flower,
each tree, in each rain drop He sends my way. I see Him in each
wave in the sea and hear His whisper in each gentle breeze. I
hear His majesty in each song the song birds sing and I enjoy the
blessing their melody brings. I know my God is real, when I see
how lives are changed, when they give their life’s reins to Him.
I know my God is real when He gives me joy in my times of
stress. I know He is real when He gives me strength in times
when I am weak and in pain and how He restores my soul when I pray.
Yes dear friend, my God is real because I feel Him in my soul.
Dear friend I trust that you will believe my God is real and feel
the joy He can give your soul.

JUST THINKING!
JUST THINKING!
I am sitting in my study,
watching the snow flutter,
flutter down, as it hits,
the frozen January ground;
so softly, softly,
not making a sound.
God’s presence is all around,
His mercy and grace,
Oh, how abundant they abound.
God’s love surrounds the universe,
as He holds and controls,
everything in the palm of His hand.
He watches His Creation,
He loves everything,
even sinful man.
Because of this love;
He offers His amazing grace,
to redeem mankind;
He sent His Son Jesus,
to die on a rugged cross,
and through faith in Him
His Spirit comes in to abide.
So call upon Jesus
and find spiritual victory,
and not a soul lost.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD 69 CONTINUED
TOPIC: Steadfastness
Lesson three : Steadfastness is a character of the Saints. Job 17:9 The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger. John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
STEADFASTNESS SHOULD BE MANIFESTED:
a/ IN CLEAVING TO GOD —- Deut.10:20 Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name. Acts 11:23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
b/ IN THE WORK OF THE LORD —- 1 Cor. 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding…

GOD’S SHAPING HANDS!
On this beautiful January morning as I look over the snow covered hills and the white tipped evergreen branches, I thank God for giving eyes to see and ears to hear and all the other senses we have to enjoy His creation. God uses all His creation to mold and shape us like the potter and the clay. He molds and shapes us into vessels of service. I wrote a poem about little vessels a few years ago that I want to share with you now.
We are little vessels, created by God’s hand, put here a little while, to walk in this land. We are little vessels, broken and marred by sin, God knows our every weakness, He wants to mold us from within. We are little vessels, who need saved from sin, by submitting to God our potter, salvation will begin. We are little vessels, saved from sin and shame, Jesus gives us victory, because He lives again. We are little vessels, being molded by His Spirit, because of His love and grace, and not by our merit. We are little vessels, being shaped as He would have us be, perfect in His sight, when the face of Jesus we see.
