BEING HUMBLE

BEING HUMBLE!

on April 20, 2021

Being humble does not mean you think less of self than other people, or having a low opinion of your own gift. It means freedom from thinking about yourself at all. ~William Temple

🙏 CHRIST IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HUMILITY!

Matthew 11:29 King James Version (KJV)

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  Also read: Jn.13:13-15; Phil.2:7-8.

🙏 Humility is part of our Christian character.  Psalms34: 1-4.

34 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

🙏 Humility is respected by God. Psalm 138:Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off. [also read Isa.66:2]

🙏 The humble shall be lifted up and saved.  Job 22:For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

Quote. “Lord, where are we wrong, make us willing to change; where we are right make us to live with.”  ~Peter Marshall

🙏He or she who humble their selves shall be exalted, if not now, one will be latter, in service for our Lord an Savior. Luke 14:11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Luke 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

🙏 God listens to the humble when they pray, crying out to Him through the Holy Spirit.  Psalm 9:10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

12 When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

13 Have mercy upon me, O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:

14 That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.

🙏 Humble yourself in the Lord’s sight and He will lift you up.  James 4:Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

🙏 God loves those who humble themselves. Matthew 18:Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Verse 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Verses 26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

Quote: WE are to be humble and serve our fellow man as Christ came to do! “Humility is to make the estimate of one’s self.” ~Charles Spurgeon

GOD’S SON SHINES!

Wint68

God’s SON came out,

Out from a tomb,

God’s SON has risen,

Death’s grave could not,

Could not consume.

God’s SON shines bright,

He illuminates dark souls

And evil spirits take flight.

God’s SON shines forever,

Through all eternity,

God’s SON shines forever,

Lighting the pathway,

The pathway to Heaven,

For you and for me.

Two Favorite Psalms I am sharing today are Psalm 121 and 150.

Psalm 121

King James Version (KJV)

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Psalm 150

King James Version (KJV)

150 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD

Wint68

In this writing let’s explore some verses about prayer power.

Open your Bible and underline or highlight these as you look them over. I will share them

on this blog but it is nice to mark them in your Bible.

Psalms 40:I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.

Matthew 7:For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will…

Today we are looking at some more Bible verses about Saints and what we are compared with:

1 Peter 2: Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Note the words Lively stones!

Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

1 Peter 2:2

2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:  Note the word babes!

Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
1 Corinthians 14:20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children…

HEAVEN’S SPLENDOR

Wint68

O, to walk on those streets of gold,

that are in Heaven, I’m told,

to see the Jasper walls,

and those gates of pearl,

O, to live without sin, trouble or pain,

no heartaches at all,

and be able to talk,

talk with Jesus and Apostle Paul.

O, to see the crystal sea,

and listen to the Angels sing,

and gather around God’s thrown,

and with every sound proclaim,

worthy is the LAMB that was slain!

JudeKing James Version (KJV)

1Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

2Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

5I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward…

SOME FAVORITE BIBLE VERSES!

Ephesians 4:6-12King James Version (KJV)

6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

7But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
