UNITY of GOD

* A ground for obeying— Deut.4: 39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lordthy God giveth thee, for ever.

* A ground for loving— Deut.6:Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

THE UNITY of  GOD is ASSERTED by :

Ephesians 4 New King James Version (NKJV)

Walk in Unity

I, therefore, the prisoner [a]of the Lord, [b]beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in [c]you all.

Spiritual Gifts

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says:

“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”

(Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also [d]first descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [e]edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

The New Man

17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as [f]the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Do Not Grieve the Spirit

25 Therefore, putting away lying, Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. 26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give [g]place to the devil. 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary [h]edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, [i]clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

I hope this chapter is special for you too!

THANK YOU LORD!

800-thanksgiving2

I sit here thinking about what we can be thanking our Lord for and I started to write some things down knowing  there is no end to the list; here are a few things I wrote.

I THANK YOU LORD!
I thankj you Lord in the morning,
I thank you Lord at noontime,
I thank you Lord at night;
I thank you Lord in the dark,
I thank you Lord in the day light,
I thank you Lord for the sunshine,
I thank you Lord for the rain.
I thank you Lord for my breath,
and I thank you for all things,
wonderful things that remain.
I thank you Lord for your word
and the quiet times we share;
I thank you for your Salvation,
and knowing you are always there.
I thank you for my mansion,
that you are building for me now,
up there in Heaven,
soon my place to dwell.
Lord, I long to see your face,
and with my fellow Saints be;
I thank you Lord for your sacrifice,
on that cross at Calvary,
giving Eternal life and Eternal Victory.

A SEPTEMBER WEEKEND!

100_7414 (2)

A SEPTEMBER WEEKEND!
Yesterday was Saturday,
O, how the wind blew,
O, how it rained;
the last end of a hurricane,
it so quickly came,
up the Atlantic coast,
a fierce wind ,
when it started,
so much damage,
and so many died.
As I think about this,
this quiet Sunday morn,
so many are heat broken,
so many are worn.
Sin is like a mighty storm,
seeking human hearts,
so weak and so worn;
Satan making wonderful promises,
of wealth and riches;
good times with drugs;
which leave so many victums
lying in deep ditches,
lost and with out hope;
But wait,what do I see?
One pure son,Jesus
free from all sin,
sent by His Father,
God the Creator of all,
to offer away to be forgiven,
and a place of eternal peace,
a place called Heaven,                                                                                                                 when you follow Him in faith.

A FAVORITE PSALMS!

100_7158 (2)

This morning doing my Bible readings this Psalm spoke to me in a special way and I want to share it with you and trust you enjoy it too!

Psalm 98  (KJV)
98 O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
2 The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.
3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
5 Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.
7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together
9 Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

Looking at Psalm 100!

Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Purpose of the Psalm:  To call the whole earth to worship Jehovah.

” Barnes writes,” The idea of praise does not pertain to one nation only; that it was not appropriate for one people merely; that it should not be confined to the Hebrew people; but there was proper ground of praise for all, there was that in which all nations, of all languages and conditions could unite. The ground of that was that was they had one creator”.  [ verse three ]

In the five short verses of this Psalm we are told that worship is simple. This Psalm is one of thanksgiving and praise, one with a pattern.

Call to worship.  Verses 1,2.

Why God should be worshiped.  Verse 3.

Call to worship.  Verse 4.

Why God should be worshiped.  Verse 5.

In this short psalm, we find 7 elements of worship suggested:

Verse one.   Using our voices to make a joyful noise.

Verse 2a.  Serve the Lord with gladness.

Verse 2b. Come before Him with singing.

Verse 4a.  Enter His gates with thanksgiving.

Verse 4b.  Enter His courts with praise.

Verse 4c. Have a thankful heart.

Verse 4d.  Bless His name.

This Psalm tells us why we should praise Him for who He is:

Verse 3a.  He is God.

3b.  He is creator.

3c.  He is owner.

3d. He is Shepherd.

We are to praise Him because of His attributes:

Verse 5. He is good; His mercy endures forever; His truth endures forever.

All people on earth do dwell,

Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice;

Him serve with mirth, His praise forth tell!

Come before Him and rejoice,

Know that the Lord is God indeed.

Without our aid, He us did make;

We are His flock, He doth we feed,

And for His sheep, He doth us take.

Oh, enter His gates with praise

approach with joy His courts unto;

Praise, loud, and bless His name always

for it is seemly to do so.

For why? The Lord our God is good,

His mercy is forever sure;

His truth at all times firmly stood,

and shall from age to age endure.

THE CLOUDS

100_7414 (2)

THE CLOUDS
Our lives are like the clouds,
little vapors in the sky,
we hang around awhile,
then we say goodbye.
Our lives are like the clouds,
sometimes all fluffy and white,
some times we have our trials,
like the black clouds at night.
Our lives are like the clouds,
being driven by the wind,
sometimes we are tossed to and fro,
as we fall into sin.
Our lives are like the clouds,
that are controlled by God’s hand,
when we put our trust in Him,
He will guide us across this land.
Our lives are like the clouds,
all beautiful and bright,
floating around the sun,
as it sets at night.
Our lives are like the clouds,
little vapors in the sky,
we hang around awhile,
then we say goodbye.
