JUST THINKING!

I am sitting looking out my window at a beautiful July Summer day;

The weather has been nice and warm, a little humid,

but we should not complain because cold weather comes soon here.

When I was a lad I would lay and look at the clouds quickly pass over in the beautiful

Summer sky. This picture above brought back so many good memories, you might call them precious memories. I wish you all a beautiful Summer!

MY WORD FOR TODAY!

TRUTH: Here is a good quote about truth. God offers to every mind it’s choice between and repose. Take what you please – you can never have both. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

BIBLE TEACHING: John 4:44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.  Jesus went into his own village to teach truth and they did not want to hear the truth and He left before they could harm HIm.  As His followers we today are rejected in many places because they do not want the truth.

TRUTH QUOTE: The trouble about man is two fold. He cannot learn truths which are too complicated; He forgets truths which are too simple.  ~ Rebecca West

BIBLE TEACHING: Psa.25: 5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

TRUTH QUOTE: Truth never hides; yet how hard to find! ~James Lendall Basford (1845–1915), Seven Seventy Seven Sensations, 1897

BIBLE TEACHING: Psa 33: 4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Psalms 117: 2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD 69 {LESSON 5}

STEADFASTNESS CONTINUED a/ Saints are are to pray for steadfastness.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD 68b

Serving God: Rewards for service  [a] Divine honor—- John 12:28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

[b]Acceptance before God—- Romans 14:16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

[c] Inheritance— Col.3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

[d] Eternal blessedness—- Rev. 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. [ Rev. 22: And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:]

Patience!

In this day of fast foods, fast cars and fast communication we see less patience than any other time in our history. The only place we find a lot of patience is the doctor’s office. Being adopted children of God through the shed blood of His Only Begotten Son; we are to be patient. Patience is listed as a sign of growing in grace. We read in 2 Peter 1: 5-8 “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”. Patience is also included in the fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5: “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ let us be filled with the Holy Spirit and allow Him to produce the produce the fruit of His Spirit in our lives so others can see Christ in our life. Let us show patience to our fellow man in all aspects as we daily walk with Jesus as our Master and guide.

A FAVORITE PSALMS

As I read through the Psalms, this one has become one of my favorites; I trust you love it also!

Psalm 140

140 Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.

Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
