GOD’S WORDS BLESS!

God blesses those who believe—-  Luke 1:45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.  Gal.3:So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

God gives blessings to those with their sins forgiven—- Psalms 32: Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.  Romans 4:Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

God gives righteousness without works —- Romans 4:Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

God blesses those whom He chastises—- Job 5: 16 So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

God blesses those who suffer for Christ.—- Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

Those whose Lord is their God are blessed. Psalm 144:15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.

Topic: The Blessed

I am sitting  in my study thinking about blessing and who is blessed and now I am looking at Bible verses about the blessed, it may take a few writings to share most of them starting with this one.

a/ Here are a couple of verses about whom God chooses.  Psalms 65:Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. —- Eph. 1:Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: [KJV].

b/ The next verses are about whom God calls.   Isa 51:Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him. —– Rev.19:And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

c/These next verses are about those who know Christ. —- Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

d/ Those who know the gospel will be blessed. —-Psalms 89:15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.

e/ Those who are not offended in Christ receive blessings. —- Matthew 11:And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

STEADFASTNESS CONTINUED a/ Saints are are to pray for steadfastness.

Psalms 17:Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

b/ Saints praise God for their being steadfast.   Psalms 116:For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

c/  MINISTERS ARE  1/ EXHORTED TO BE STEADFAST     2 Timothy 1:13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.  TITUS 1:Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

2/Ministers are to pray and rejoice for their people!   1Thess. 3:For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. Colossians 2:For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

This finishes our brief study on being steadfast; I trust it has been a blessing to you! ~ Winston Staples

PRODUCTS OF REPENTANCE:    a/ Life—– Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. [Note the phrase repentance unto life!]

b/ Remission of sin—— Mark 1:John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

c/ New Spirit—– Ezekiel.18: 31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

d/ New Heart—— same verse as above. Note: and make you a new heart and a new spirit:

e/ Joy—– Luke 15:I say unto you, that likewise[joy ]shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. 10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is [joy] in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

TODAY’S PSALMS

Psalm 91 King James Version (KJV)

91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Words to Sing!

letter_writing

Today I am sharing two favorite verses of this old hymn. I love these old hymns, they share the great news in a special way. My favorites are of course those proclaiming the birth of Christ and about His resurrection.

These verses are taken from an old hymn about victory ” Lord of the Living”. Verses three and four say this: May we, when ever tempted to dejection, strongly recapture thoughts of resurrection. You gave us Jesus to defeat our sadness, with Easter gladness.

Lord you can lift us from the grave of sorrow into the presence of your own tomorrow; give to your people for the day’s affliction your benediction.” ~ Frederick Herman Kaan

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD 50f
Assurance continued:
God’s promises give us assurance by the knowledge we find there. 2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godl7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
*We must strive to maintain righteous things and have the assurance of God’s peace and rest by doing HIS will. Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
*We have confidence and hope in God’s assurance: Psalms 42:3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.8 Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

MY FAVORITE PSALMS

Psalm 121  (KJV)

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

CONFIDENCE IN GOD: Mankind down through the pages of time have tried to find confidence in many things, but some have never found the confidence they need until they came to know GOD and placed their trust in HIM ALONE. He re are a few verses about why we can trust in GOD OUR CREATOR.

*Psalms 27:1The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

*Psalms 71:For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.

*Psalms 112:He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

*Jeremiah 17:Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Phil.1:I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

*Hebrews 13:Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

*1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

I trust you will be blessed as you have read these verses and your confidence will be strong in HIM!  [ prepared by Winston Staples ]
