WHERE I LONG TO GO!

O, how I long to go,

long to go,

on my wheeler,

to the place,

where the red pine trees grow,

my mind says yes,

but my body says no.

So I just dream,

about this special place,

where the red pine trees grow.

I would sit,

smell the flowers,

and listen,

for the call of the loon,

and the caw of the crow,

at my favorite spot,

where the red pine trees grow.

LONGINGS

letter_writing

SOMETIMES WHEN I SIT,

LONGINGS COME TO ME,

LONGINGS TO TRAVEL,

TO FAR AWAY PLACES,

TO HEAR DIFFERENT SOUNDS,

DIFFERENT FACES SEE.

LONGINGS TO WALK,

ALONG MOUNTAIN TRAILS,

ALONG THE SEAS,

AND THROUGH GARDENS,

MANY FLOWERS TO SEE.

SOME DAYS I LONG,

LONG FOR HEAVEN,

THERE JESUS I WILL SEE,

IN THIS HEAVENLY PLACE,

NO PAIN AND SORROW,

NO CLOUDY SKIES WILL BE,

NO MORE LONGINGS FOR ME.

FALL STROLL!

Today I took a short walk,
and looked up into the sky                                                         watched some fluffy clouds,                                                           as they floated by.                                                                           Across the stream,                                                                     grows a great field of corn,                                                       there the wild geese rest,
in the evening and morn.
Sometimes I look and listen,
for that wild goose call,
as I stroll on the trail,
where the autumn leaves fall.

THE DRIVE!

Hiking_Trail_1

The doctor,

advised my wife,

to get me out some days

to drive my blues away.

The road was rough,

and rutty you might say,

Like this journey

we call life’s highway,

we find ruts,

we find pot holes,

that Satan our foe

places in our way.

Thank you, Jesus,

our SAVIOR and our KING,

for redeeming our souls,

and making us free,

that is why we can sing

now and for eternity.

Fall Walk

Today I decided to take a walk,

and see if a partridge,

I could spot.

I grabbed the old twenty gauge,

and a handful of bird shot.

I walked slowly,

you might say crept,

there was a crash,

there was a bounce,

I almost got run over,

run over by a female deer.

There was a snort,

and another deer ran,

I wished I had,

a camera in my hand.

I looked above,

as I heard this sound,

of the wild goose call,

O, how I love the sounds,

and sights of fall.

AFTERNOON STROLE

It was late afternoon,

the sun was high,

high in the sky,

and in a maple tree,

a robin sang near bye.

The snow was melting,

mud is everywhere,

I hear a hawk cry,

it is high in the air.

Just over the ridge,

I hear a partridge drum,

calling for a mate,

and hoping she will come.

Everywhere I look,

I see the sights of spring,

and say thank you,

to my Savior and King!

OUR GREAT OUTDOORS

As I gaze,

out towards the hills,

from this valley,

where I was born,

seventy – two years ago,

I am now, tired and worn.

Snow coverd hills and fields still exist,

and I long to see,

those red pine trees,

and natures sights and sounds,

I have so greatly missed.

Through the wispering pines,

I listen to God’s created sounds,

and worship Him,

in my spirit and mind.

Over head a great eagle soars,

looking for a lunch,

down in the great outdoors.

Yes, I love to walk,

on those nature trails,

and enjoy the creation of God,

and praise His Holy name,

because He shows a love,

a love that never fails.
