EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [76]

Exploring God’s Word [76]
Today’s word: HOPE
Quote: The oil of hope makes life’s machinery run smoothly. ~ James Basford
Scripture: Psalm 23:The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. John 14: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The Lord is my hope, rest and Peace!
Quote: Once you choose hope, anythings possible. ~Christopher Reeve
When the world says, give up; Hope whispers,” Try it one more time.” ~Author unknown.

WHERE THE RED PINE GROW!

Hiking_Trail_1

There is a place,about a mile away,where I would go,and spend hours every day.

I got on an old four wheeler,on  it I would go,

to my quiet place, where the red pine trees grow.

Some days I would see,a doe in the grove,if slowly I drove.

At the right time, late in the day;I would stop, and watch the beaver play.

Most of the time, their play for me,was work to them,and while they swam;

they quickly repaired the dam; while In the branches of the pine,

the  blue jays cried, and the squirrels played, with the gentle breeze,

the red pine trees swayed. It became my favourite quiet place to go,

to meditate on God’s word, to keep my outlook on life,

His Words that are sharper than  a two edged sword.

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD 72 [Lesson 3]

Topic — Witness of the Holy Spirit:

1/ Given to the Saints.

*When they believe— Acts 15:And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;  1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

*Testify of Christ — John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

*Give evidence of our being adopted — Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

*Give evidence of Christ living in the believer — 1 John 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

*Give evidence that God dwells in the believer — 1 John 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Against all unbelievers —Neh.9:30 Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.  Acts 28:25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Just Looking!

Just looking,

my eyes focused,

on the trees,

colored trees,

blowing and swaying,

back and forth,

in the North wind,

telling me;

it will soon,

soon snow again.

Just looking,

looking over the hill,

at evergreens and hardwoods,

stately on both it’s sides;

telling me,

I am growing older,

with each tick,

and each tock,

as the hands of time,

quickly slip bye!

JUST THINKING!

100_7414 (2)

I am sitting looking out my window at a beautiful July Summer day;

The weather has been nice and warm, a little humid,

but we should not complain because cold weather comes soon here.

When I was a lad I would lay and look at the clouds quickly pass over in the beautiful

Summer sky. This picture above brought back so many good memories, you might call them precious memories. I wish you all a beautiful Summer!

Soaring!

Soon, I will be leaving,

without a jet plane,

flying without wings,

caught up in the air,

to meet the Lord of Lords

and the King of Kings.

Soon, I will be leaving,

without a jet plane,

I know why,

but I don’t know when,

when I return,

I will be in New Jerusalem.

Soon I will be leaving,

without a jet plane,

flying without wings,

to meet in the air,

my Lord of Lords,

and King of Kings!

JUST THINKING!

I watch up the old country road through my study window and my mind slips back into a time of the past. My brother and I would walk down this same road and watch the pheasants and rabbits walk through the bushes and across the icy patches this time of year; we was on our way down to our friends to play hockey on a large pond by his house. I long sometimes to play on that pond and enjoy the fellowship of all my friends. Oh how I enjoyed my childhood!

JUST THINKING!

As I sit and look out my study window at all the bare branches of the Aspens with a few Chick-a-dees flying to and fro out of them, my mind flashes back seventy years and how I would take my blind mother out through them to a big rock, there we would sit and rest. Then we would walk back to the house and make doughnuts; These are precious memories to remember and ponder upon!
