AUGUST

Wint68's Blog

Rom 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. Rom 11:36
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

The month of August,

has just begun,

what a beautiful day,

it is filled with sun.

The robins hop,

hop across my lawn,

they have been there,

since the break of dawn;

they fly to a  tree,

and feed their young,

and return to the ground,

another feeding cycle begun.

Nature is so nice,

so nice to behold in August,

seeing it’s flowers,

red, yellow and gold.

God created August,

such a pretty month,

for you and me,

so let’s say thank you,

thank you Father,

for this blessing,

and every blessing now,

and for eternity.

Consolation for the Afflicted Saints

Wint68's Blog

During all 50 plus years of chronic pain God’s word has brought me through with its words of consolation. What does the Bible say about our consolation? In the next few days we are going to explore  to see what nuggets we can find!

Psalm 23:4; Romans 15:5; 2 Cor.1:3,4; 7:6,7; Col.1:11,12; 2 Thess.2:16-17.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

King James Version (KJV)

16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

MY OLD SWING

Wint68's Blog

My old swing,
sits beneath,
a large old pine;
a good place to sit,
swing back and forth,
my back toward the South,
my face toward the North.
My old swing is,
a great spot to think,
a great place to pray,
write things down,
sometimes in the evening,
sometimes at mid-day.
My old swing is,
a great place to thank God,
as I count the blessings,
He sends my way.
I thank You,
for my old swing,
where I can meditate,
on Your words night and day.

A FAVORITE PSALM!

Psalm 46King James Version

46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

AWAKE

AWAKE!

Awake, my mind awake! Meditate on God;

His words and grace so freely given.

Awake, my eyes awake! See God’s gift of salvation.

Awake, my ears awake! Hear His words of comfort given.

Awake, my tongue awake! Proclaim His truth of redemption.

Awake, my mouth awake! Sing His praise and glory forever.

Awake, my heart awake! Be filled with God’s spirit.

Awake, my arms awake! Embrace His mercy forever.

Awake, my hands awake! Serve Him in His awesome creation.

Awake, my knees awake! Bow in prayer with humble adoration.

Awake, my legs awake! Stand firm with great devotion.

Awake, my feet awake! Follow the steps Jesus trod before us.

Awake, my soul awake! Praise God for His love and favor.

Rejoice, my being rejoice! Dwell with Christ forever.

A WRITING!

70pluswint

Trees swaying to and fro,

Not knowing which way to go,

The wind is the decider,

As it gusts strong,

Then it’s force slows.

We can be like the trees,

As life’s breezes,

And strong winds blow,

And try to govern,

The way we go.

Death and taxes,

Are a Sure thing,

But  neither can Salvation bring,

There is only one hope,

One cure for our soul,

To live forevermore.

God so loves us,

He forgives our sins,

When we say yes to Jesus,

His Spirit enters in

And makes our soul

Safe and secure,

In the arms of Jesus,

For evermore, for evermore.

Favorite Scripture Passage!

Philippians 4:6-10King James Version

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

A FAVORITE PSALMS

103 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

19 The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22 Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.

I trust this is one of your favorites too!

BEING HUMBLE [3]

BEING HUMBLE [3]

Jesus’s example of humility: Luke 9:58; 2 Cor.8:9 —- His humble living conditions.

Hebrews 4:15,16; 5:7————- He feels our hurts!

Matt.20:28; Luke 22:27; Philippians 2:7—- His humility is seen in His coming to be a servant!

Matthew 9:10-13; Luke 15:1,2—— His associating with the lowly and despised!

John 5:41;6:15———– His refusing to receive honor from men. [ the time was not right for Him to be crowned king!]

John 13:4,5——- His washing of the disciples feet!

Zechariah 9:9; Matthew 21:5,7——– His humble entry into Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey!

As followers of Christ, we are to be humble servants setting an example for others to follow! This concludes a brief look at humility. God be with you my friends!
